Would you believe it ?


Having talked up the tactical nuances of tackling L'enfer du Nord's infamous Sector #1 in a previous issue...Disaster.


This half-hearted fence and rather blunt sign were discovered on the way back from some course reconnaissance in recent days.  As you may imagine, the LRB News ! scouts could not believe their eyes when zeroing in on the rather vague promise of completion some time in mid-March !   What sort of project management critical path deadline is that ?


Not only is it highly probable that Sector #1 will need to be scratched from the inaugural LRB  course, but it seems that upgrade works will ultimately rob Sector #1 of its greatest asset - the likelihood of mud and slippery going.  Surely this is bureaucracy gone mad.


Well, thank you Launceston City Council.  The LRB News ! team are now in a mad scramble to find a suitable alternative path to connect the course dots.  Some late hours of google earth stalking have ensued.  At the maddest of hours, and in some frustration, passing the fence was considered.  But sanity has returned , the hangrys abated with a calming Hammer recovery shake.  Surely a solution can be found in time.


While the course most definately will not be the same, the ride will continue as planned, just expect some last minute confirmation/improvisation - perhaps as late as halfway into the morning...

Obviously your chosen steed has been sequestered away for quite some time ( juding by the life-time's worth of accumulated stuff piled in after it ) just waiting for the call to rise like a pheonix....

 LRB in Pictures... While the elevator musics hums gently in the background as the points are tallied, LRB News! would like to share some previously unseen images from the Hell of the North.  LRB Trophy Revealed ! Well fellas, here it is.  The coveted LRB trophy... This artisanal relic is what we all will be vying for at the inaugural L'enfer du Nord.                                   And what a masterwork it is. Carefully hand-crafted artefacts, masterfully patined as though pulled from a badly crashed and discarded machine from years gone by, and appearing as though assembled with other left-over detritus from around the LRB Service Course, this piece has been drawn together with the sort of laser precision only possible with modern artisanal tools and techniques.
